Honored for his role as an ambassador of alpine skiing

The Ski Guide Austria has announced the recipients of this year’s awards – among them Martin Dolezal, President of the Snowsports Academy – Snowsports GmbH. He receives the SKI GUIDE AUSTRIA AWARD 2026, one of the most prestigious distinctions in the Austrian winter sports industry. The award recognizes individuals who shape the development of snow sports with exceptional commitment, innovation and vision.

50 years of passion for snow and winter sports

Martin Dolezal has been on skis since the age of three and has devoted his life to the element of snow. His passion spans all stages of his career: from the winter sports industry to the management of sports and leisure facilities, and finally to the education of future generations of ski and snowboard instructors.


For more than 40 years, he has been a leader, visionary and creative strategist, shaping Austria’s snow sports landscape with concepts that reach far beyond national borders. His mission: to share the fascination of snow with people around the world.

Impact reaching beyond Austria

As President of the Vienna Ski and Snowboard Instructor Association – Snowsports GmbH and Managing Director of the Snowsports Academy – Snowsports GmbH, he oversees the training of more than 3,000 snow sports instructors per year, attracting participants from many parts of the world.


He also plays a key role in the development of snow sports in the indoor ski centers of Dubai and Egypt, where he has been responsible for the complete instructor training since their opening – a lighthouse project in international snow sports development.


Additionally, he leads training programs in China, the Netherlands, Argentina, Lesotho, Georgia and Greece, contributing significantly to the professionalization of snow sports on a global scale.


Commitment to the future of snow sports

With his keynote topics “Change of Mindset” and “Snow Sports in Urban Spaces”, Dolezal advocates for new ways of thinking in the industry. He highlights snow as an important cultural asset and economic factor for Austria, while promoting innovative urban concepts that make snow sports more accessible to broader populations.


His goal: to bring snow sports closer to people, attract new target groups and secure the long-term future of the sport.
