Vienna is becoming a surprising hub for winter sports, especially in youth development. With record participation, structured training, and a growing public presence, the Wiener Stadtadler are showing that ski jumping doesn't need mountains – just vision and commitment.

WienAIR 2025: Austria’s Largest Youth Ski Jumping Event

The recent WienAIR 2025 was a milestone: 146 children and teens from across Austria took part in the Vienna state championships — more than ever before.

Due to the lack of a home hill, the event took place in Höhnhart, Upper Austria. But make no mistake: the heart of this success beats in Vienna, where the young athletes are trained, supported, and developed through professional structures and passionate coaching.

This isn’t a coincidence. Behind the scenes, a clear development strategy is in place.

The Wiener Stadtadler, a ski jumping club based in Vienna, provide focused coaching, structured camps, and long-term opportunities for young athletes from the city to grow. Even in summer, jumpers train at facilities like Hinzenbach to build skills and team spirit.

Experience the Sport First-Hand: Tag des Sports

On September 20, 2025, ski jumping will come to life for the public:The Wiener Stadtadler will once again appear at Tag des Sports at Vienna’s Heldenplatz – showcasing the sport, answering questions, and offering a chance to try it yourself.

November 2025 marks the club’s 20th anniversary – a major milestone, not just in history, but in future outlook.

With structured youth development and a growing network, the Wiener Stadtadler prove that ski jumping can thrive even without alpine terrain. This celebration brings together supporters, partners, and voices from across Austria to honor what’s been built – and what lies ahead.
