From April 19 to 22, 2026, the Snowsports Academy hosted its instructor coordination event in Sölden. Around 50 members of the Snowsports Academy instructor team from both ski and snowboard disciplines came together to further develop teaching methodology, technical performance, and overall training quality.

Ideal Conditions for the Snowsports Academy Instructor Training in Sölden
Sölden once again provided the perfect setting for professional winter sports training. The glacier ski area delivered excellent snow conditions even in late April, with reliable piste quality, grippy snow surfaces, and stable training conditions throughout the event. Three consecutive days of sunshine created ideal circumstances for focused on-snow training sessions.
Another important reason for choosing Sölden was the continued collaboration with our hotel partner VAYA. The partnership, which began in autumn 2025, was further strengthened during the coordination event. VAYA Sölden provided the ideal accommodation for the team and created a strong base for productive days on the mountain as well as valuable exchange beyond the slopes.
A special highlight was the warm welcome on Sunday evening by Jack Falkner, Managing Director of Bergbahnen Sölden and one of the region’s most influential personalities in alpine tourism. His personal reception and appreciation set a positive tone for the days ahead.

Focus on Methodology, Technical Performance and Training Quality
From a professional perspective, the first two days centered around training sessions led by instructors from the Austrian state-certified ski instructor training, provided through the Austrian Ski School Association (ÖSSV).
Special thanks go to Thomas Kreidenhuber, Markus Brunnhofer, Lukas Hübl and Bernhard Haider, whose experience, precision and professional input provided valuable impulses for both teaching methodology and technical skiing performance.
The first training day focused primarily on methodology and teaching structure. The objective was to further strengthen training standards within the Snowsports Academy and directly apply new educational approaches in practical on-snow sessions.
In the afternoon, the team participated in an intensive theory workshop focused on analyzing internal course structures and operational processes. Together, the instructors identified areas for optimization and discussed how to further improve coordination within the training programs. Examination standards and alignment across the different course formats were also key topics of discussion.
The second day shifted the focus toward the instructors’ own technical skiing and snowboard performance. Through targeted training sessions, the team worked specifically on skiing technique, snowboard performance, movement quality, and individual on-snow performance standards.
Team Exchange and Shared Development on Snow
The third and final day was dedicated primarily to internal exchange within the instructor team. Video analysis, movement feedback, and focused work on technical movement patterns played a central role throughout the day, alongside the shared passion for snow sports that connects the entire team.

For the Snowsports Academy, this is exactly the purpose of such coordination events: consciously investing in the quality of the instructor team. The organization strongly believes that high-quality ski instructor training and snowboard instructor training can only be delivered through highly qualified and continuously developing instructors. In the long term, this investment directly strengthens the quality of all education and advanced training programs offered by the Snowsports Academy.
Motivation Heading into the Next Winter Season
The Snowsports Academy instructor training in Sölden marked a successful conclusion to the 2025/26 winter season. With renewed motivation, fresh professional input, and strengthened team spirit, the instructor team is already looking ahead to the upcoming winter.
Registration for the autumn training courses is already open, and all current ski instructor training and continuing education programs are now available on the official Snowsports Academy booking platform.
